Rocket League is a game that combines soccer with high-flying rocket-powered cars. While the concept may sound interesting, the execution falls flat in several areas.
One major issue with Rocket League is its steep learning curve. It can be frustrating for new players to get a handle on the controls and the physics of the game. Even after hours of practice, it can still feel like luck is the determining factor in whether or not you score a goal.
Additionally, the online community can be toxic, with many players engaging in unsportsmanlike conduct such as rage quitting, insulting other players, or deliberately throwing games.
Another issue is the lack of variety in game modes. While the standard soccer-style mode is the main attraction, there are only a handful of other game modes that don’t offer much in terms of differentiation from the main game.
Overall, while Rocket League has an interesting concept, its execution is flawed and the steep learning curve and toxic community can make it a frustrating experience. With that being said, I can only give Rocket League a score of 3 out of 10.
